Life has been going very well lately, almost suspiciously well.
- At any time I expect Morpheus to show up offering me a blue pill or a red pill, because life is too good to be true these days.
A couple of years ago I was working construction for very little money, daydreaming about being able to travel. The hours were long, and all of the work was out in the blazing hot sun. Those days now feel like nightmares to me, because I spend most of my time on the road traveling from one marijuana dispensary to the next. My official job title is Quality Control Specialist, which sounds very serious and official, but really means that I test and sample various cannabis strains to make sure they are up to snuff. Our cannabis dispensary management company relies a lot on local growers, so the quality of product can vary a great deal from area to area. My job is to make sure the cannabis we are stocking and selling meets our pretty demanding standards of excellence. This company has always tried to grow by word of mouth from cannabis customers, and not from marketing or social media. We have a reputation for delivering the best value for your cannabis dollar, and that means the quality always has to be superior, every time, every strain, in every store. I do take my job very seriously, I am a professional… just the kind of professional who gets to toke random blends of local marijuana all over the upper midwest. If I am asleep, please don’t wake me up.
