How to make yourself stand out in a crowd is always a tough nut to crack. No matter what you do for a living, it always seems like there are a lot of other people doing the same things. It’s very hard to make a name for yourself without making an impression and being memorable. For me, the problem was that I was a pretty good chef in a town filled to capacity with “pretty good” chefs. Finding a platform where I could showcase my skills seemed impossible, so I was doomed to obscurity. Then I got into cooking with cannabis, and started to turn things around. It started quite by accident, when a friend asked me about finding a caterer for the grand opening party of a new cannabis dispensary. I eagerly said that I would cater it, as I had been experimenting with several different cannabis and CBD oil infused dishes lately. I was quite sure that I wasn’t ready for catering such a big event, but fortune favors the bold so I lied and said I had cannabis catering experience. It all went off without a hitch, and the cannabis dispensary was so pleased they referred my services to the corporate office. Now I have catered seven different cannabis dispensary openings throughout the state, and there is more work out there if I am willing to travel. I am slowly but surely cultivating a reputation for an excellent chef who doesn’t go lightly on the cannabis content of his dishes. The future is looking bright, thanks to recreational cannabis.
